The older popular type of storage was tape storage. Tape storage used magnetic tape to store data. This kind of storage used to be very cumbersome as it was not so fast and easy to find the tapes, mount it on device and search for the particular data and read the same. Though the expenses are less, there is a huge chance of losing data due to mishandling of devices. This is little applicable to disk storage too, but mostly we have safe storages for disk media.

Coming on to the data security, it becomes an important part that we do not lose our data. Also, we should take care that our confidential data does not go in wrong hands and ruin us. Also there are people who create spywares to collect your personal confidential information and use the same to steal your data / money. Also, we need to take care of computer security and internet security are assured. This can be done with running antivirus, antispyware and firewall softwares for real time.
