There are disreputable providers out there who will tell you that they are providing you with a managed hosting service, but when you read the fine print, you find out that what they will actually help you with is really quite limited - I've even seen plans were the "management" part was basically limited to free reboots on the server. Probably not quite what most people would expect. So, when it comes to managed hosting, make sure you understand what kind of services are included (or specifically not included). Many hosts will help you with anything you request, but only for a specified amount of time - those are the management plans I tend to prefer.
