Recently I was studying an ebook about search engines and SEO. I got to know there are different types of search engines like primary, secondary and targeted search engines. Primary / Major search engines are none other than Google, Yahoo, MSN etc… Secondary search engines are those which are concentrated on specific audience in a particular geo location. Targeted are those which concentrate on particular niche. Examples of targeted include something like book search engines, blog search engines etc.
Recently I visited one secondary search engine – Searchers. Searchers is a search engine which comprises of UK’s most relevant search results. The search results are again classified into different types like web, local, shop and forensics. This makes this search engine as a secondary cum targeted search engine. The local search also features map feature which is useful if you are looking for any local business. The shopping search is that where you can browse through millions of products and can buy anyone you wish. Forensic search is for webmasters to identify latest trends and rising search terms.
Coming on to the interface of this search engine, its really fast and user friendly. It also provides service like worldwide weather search, also the xml search and toolbar are under development which on completion can make it dominant and more powerful. If your site is related and does not appear in the search results, just follow the add url link at the footer to add your site.
